A skill I admire

The first thing that came to my mind when thinking about a skill that I admire was being able to cook, of course there are many other skills that I would like to have, for example, playing at least one instrument decently or being fast at math, but cooking is a special one because I know one person that does it perfectly, and that person is my mom.

She has cooked for us for as long as I can remember and I have never got bored of what she has prepared for me, what I find amazing in this, is that she has always done it with love and affection toward us and that’s why I think that being able to cook for someone Is a fascinating way of showing them how much you care about them, also you are able to enjoy the food together and thanks to that you end up sharing a moment with your loved ones where you are rewarded just because you did other people happy…and full.

In the other hand, cooking is one of the most important survival skills, so is really convenient having this skill when you are at your own, this way you can prepare your own meals, something that can be a lot cheaper that constantly buying lunch.

I haven’t practice cooking on a regular basis but I could say that I know the basics like cooking rice and noodles, noodles, noodles...well, various types of noodles. I don’t cook with my mom very often because she is the expert and I would mess thing up, so I watch from far away how does she do it. On the contrary, there has been a lot of times where I had cooked with my dad but I have been only in charge of cutting the ingredients, nonetheless, just by watching and listening I had learned a few things there and there.

Recently I tried making pancakes for the first time and I searched lots of recipes, just because I needed the exact quantity of grams and liters, so I don’t have much ability or confidence on doing measurements by eye.
